As the name suggests, the collection consists of several building kits that take inspiration from real-life flowers and plants. Specifically designed for adults, the kits aim to provide grownups with a unique way to de-stress and express their creativity.

These Orchid and Succulents sets are the latest additions to LEGO’s Botanical Collection

The Orchid building set allows you to build a charming brick orchid plant that comes in a blue fluted vase. It features multiple stems that hold six large blossoms, two baby blooms, and five leaves. To give it an authentic appeal, the model also includes two buildable wandering aerial roots, a vase, and bark pieces. Overall, the 608-piece model measures over 15″ high, 11.5″ wide, and 9.5″ deep.

Consisting of 771 pieces, the Succulents building kit lets you assemble nine different succulent species. Each succulent comes with its own pot, so you can display them individually throughout your room. If you prefer to showcase them collectively, you may also do so using the linking blocks included in the set. Collectively, the model measures over 5″ high, 6.5″ wide, and 6.5″ deep.

As with any LEGO kits, both models are perfectly customizable. So, you can arrange the blocks and display the finished pieces however you like. Ottoman Turks Created Beautiful Calligraphy Displayed On Dried Leaves

On its own, calligraphy is already an intricate craft that takes months or even years to master. So, rendering it on a delicate canvas would only mean doubling the effort and the difficulty. Well, apparently, calligraphers in Ottoman Turkey were up for this challenge as they created enchanting leaf calligraphy that showcases the complexity and versatility of the Arabic language.

Online art platform Bayt Al Fann recently took to their Twitter page to share exquisite examples of this magnificent technique. Each piece features a swooping Arabic script in gold that pops against a translucent dried leaf. The coarse pattern of the leaf veins and the elegant flourishes of the script create a charming contrast that gives the piece more visual interest.

The art of calligraphy on a dried leaf, was practised widely in Ottoman Turkey. This was difficult & delicate work. The leaf was dried, & the tissue removed to leave the skeletal membrane, with gold ink applied over it.

A Video Has Gone Viral Showing Homeless Man Throwing A Birthday Party For His Dogs

Early this year, a video shared on Instagram showing a homeless man throwing a dog birthday party for his canine buddy went viral. The scene was captured on camera by a person who happened to pass by a local park in Bucaramanga, Colombia. On the three-minute-long video clip, the homeless guy is seen sitting on the steps of a park together with his two dogs. With the two lovely doggos wearing party hats, it’s easy to assume that someone’s having a very special day. The man then brought out a cake from a plastic bag, placed two candles on it and lighted it up before he started singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the dark-colored dog.

Even without a clear audio or subtitles, it’s very clear to everyone what’s happening on the video clip. One of the dogs is having a birthday and the homeless guy is throwing a party for his loyal companion. It was indeed a heartwarming moment but what happened next is what melted everyone’s heart. After singing the birthday song, the man blew up the candles and kissed both of his doggos before slicing up the cake into tiny pieces for the three of them. Watching his dogs dig into the birthday treat, the man can be seen breaking down in tears.

He acknowledges the fame and the worldwide support he’s receiving to finally afford a home and food – not just for Nena and Shaggy – but for other street dogs in need of help.

“In so many years living on the street I was never alone,” Matos shares, “my dogs were always there to bring joy to many sad days and now together we are going to help many who need us!”

Paper Quilling Artist Yulia Brodskaya Auctioned One Of Her Beautiful Pieces To Help Aid Ukraine

Artists all around the world are expressing their support of Ukraine through evocative artworks to call for peace and stop the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Russian paper quilling artist Yulia Brodskaya has joined the cause by launching a fundraiser that will benefit non-profit organizations and charities currently working to help people in Ukraine. She has recently put one of her masterpieces up for auction where all profits will be donated to these charities.

The Russian artist, who is now based in the UK, dedicates the auctioned piece titled Sunflowers to Ukraine as she joins the call the stop the Russian invasion. The unframed 3D paper artwork depicts beautiful sunflowers carefully arranged in a vase. Brodskaya accentuates the vibrant yellow color of the flowers against the blue-hued background to represent the colors of the Ukrainian flag. It is made of edge-glued strips of paper, rolled and pinched into different shapes to create the 3D image.

This artist creates mystical embroidered moth plushies out of vintage textiles

The result is a rustic yet regal specimen, featuring delicate botanical elements, animals, and even historical figures. To make her sculptures positionable, she also incorporates wires and metal loops into their antennae, wings, bodies, and legs.

Moths and textiles may seem an ironic combination as these two are enemies by nature. But apparently, this irony ignited the artist’s fascination with these winged insects. As someone who has been sewing for most of her life, working with textiles, particularly vintage ones, has inevitably become Bernhardt’s passion.

To preserve their quality, she would often inspect them for moth larvae. Eventually, this routine prompted her to see the insects as opportunities rather than threats. With her renewed perspective, it didn’t take long for her to develop a newfound appreciation for these critters.
