If you’re a cat owner, then you surely already know that felines are no exception when it comes to shedding. In fact, most breeds shed every day, with some breeds shedding particularly heavier during spring in preparation for summer. While it’s common practice to simply dispose of feline fur, one cat parent thought of repurposing it and turning it into cat slippers.

Adorable kitty Minira from Japan has recently gone viral for sporting chic and cozy footwear. In a photo shared by Minira’s owner, the feline is captured wearing a pair of tiny slippers, which features her face on each piece. But what’s even more interesting is that the pair is actually made of the feline’s fallen fur.

 

Apparently, the scales on the shafts of cat hair make it a viable addition or even substitute to wool when it comes to needle felting. Since felting involves a great deal of friction, the presence of these scales makes it possible for the strands to interweave with each other. During the process, the interwoven strands then form a dense felt that you can finally mold into different shapes.

 

 

These tiny cat slippers are a great way to repurpose your feline’s fallen fur

Grooming your cat with a slicker brush is the easiest and fastest way to gather hair for your felting project. You can also scour your fur baby’s favorite spots at home to collect more fallen fur. Ideally, you’ll want to wash all accumulated fur first before using it to remove any traces of saliva from your cat’s own grooming rituals.

 

Be sure to place the fur inside a mesh bag before washing to prevent it from agitating prematurely. You can then wash it gently with lukewarm water and a bit of shampoo or dish soap. As much as possible, avoid rubbing, squeezing, or wringing the mesh bag during washing.

 

You can simply let it soak for a few minutes to remove any unwanted odor. To rinse it, just dip the bag in a bowl of clean water, and replace the water once it becomes soapy. Repeat the process until the water remains clear after dipping. Afterward, remove the fur from the bag and lay it out on a towel to dry.

 

Once the fur is dry, it’s ready for hand carding. Although you can generally use the same felting techniques, do note that cat hair may yield shorter fiber strands than typical wool roving. So, you can either choose to create a small project or accumulate more hair to accommodate a bigger project. Likewise, you can blend in some wool for your convenience.

“I posted my very first meme on the Corporate Millennial Anxiety account on December 14th, 2020,”, Rebecca says. “The account was born out of a text conversation with one of my favorite coworkers. We were both adapting to working from home, to cope she and I would send each other funny work-related TikToks and memes.”

 

 

Greatly amused by the memes she sent, her coworker suggested that she should create an Instagram account compiling all these relatable memes. Rebecca willingly did so and that’s when it all started. Art critics are professionals specialized in analyzing, interpreting, and making critical judgments about specific artworks. But in today’s age of social media, anyone can become an art critic by simply criticizing an artist’s work. And people don’t even need a master’s or doctorate degree in art to point out what’s wrong with someone else’s works of art. Consequently, cartoonist and musician Tommy Siegel started making funny bird drawings after getting some ‘constructive criticisms’ from several people on social media. This clever artist shows how to handle censures or negative feedback like a boss. Conform to your critics’ standards in a very amusingly sardonic way and you’ll certainly end up as the runaway winner.

Siegel was initially known for his funny comics depicting people, animals, and heart-shaped figures in all kinds of humorous situations. But in late November 2020, he posted a series of bird drawings on his Instagram page. The artist wrote that he has been getting into birdwatching since the pandemic lockdown. So he decided to draw some of the birds he saw. Interestingly, all the birds he drew sported a rather voluptuous backside, perhaps to add a dash of humor into it.

But despite the accentuated bird buttocks, some people noticed the legs and pointed out how they weren’t realistic enough. A few days later, Siegel announced on Twitter that he had ‘fixed’ his bird drawings and redrew them with ‘very realistic’ legs. Surprisingly, people loved the funny transformation and asked him to create more of these. Now if you look at his Instagram page, you’ll find plenty of funny bird drawings with realistic legs that look hilarious and ridiculous at the same time.

All hail our feline overlords – cats are territorial creatures and we all know that they rule the world. So once they’ve claimed something or have marked their territory, you can’t do anything about it. A couple recently made a rather curious request to a popular blender brand, asking for 3 empty Vitamix boxes for the sole reason that they’ve lost a fight against their 3 feline masters. So, how did the cats forced the couple to make this strange request? Jessica Gerson-Neeves shared their hilarious story on Facebook through an open letter addressed to the blender-manufacturing company.

Jessica started the letter by introducing herself and her partner Nikki. The couple ardently call themselves ‘devoted servants’ to 3 cats named Max, George: Destroyer of Worlds, and Lando Calrissian. But Jessica fondly refers to them as ‘sentient soccer ball’, ‘sentient dust bunny’, and ‘sentient potato’ respectively. Jessica revealed on her letter that she has a chronic disease that makes it difficult for her body to process fiber. So, a good blender would be necessary to aid her digestion. Furthermore, she said that her wife loves smoothies and they have been planning to get a Vitamix blender for years.

 

Jessica Wrote An Open Letter To Ask For Empty Vitamix Boxes For Their Cats

They finally got the chance on Black Friday sales and purchased a Vitamix blender on Amazon after Thanksgiving Day. When they received the item on the 16th of December, the couple was so excited to unbox the product. But the moment they set the box down on the kitchen floor, Max jumped right up on top of it before they could open it. And that’s how their predicament started.

Jessica documented their stand-off with their cats on a series of Facebook posts complete with pics and shared the story on the Facebook page This Cat Is Chonky. Apparently, the 3 cats seemed to have claimed the box by sitting on top of it in rotation, not giving their humans the chance to even touch the coveted box. The stand-off has been going on for two weeks and the cats aren’t showing any signs of abandoning their post. Some of the commenters suggested that they request another similar item from Vitamix. But of course, Jessica knew that would too much of a request.

Instead of asking for an additional blender, Jessica decided to ask for empty boxes – the same one that their cats have claimed as their own. So, she went on and wrote an open letter to Vitamix in Canada Facebook detailing the embarrassing situation they’re in. The blender company responded, of course. And here’s what they have to say about this intriguing request.
